Job summary

McAngus Goudelock & Courie in Alexandria, VA seeks an experienced attorney for the Workers' Compensation team. Ideal candidates have 5-7 years in workers' compensation defense and a portable book of business. Virginia and DC licensure is required; Maryland preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants

The annualized salary range for this position is $120,000-$220,000. Actual pay will be determined based on total and relevant experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
