Job summary

Jobtailor in New York seeks an attorney with 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience to handle a caseload of low- to moderate-complexity matters. You will independently manage cases from inception through trial or appeal, draft pleadings, motions and discovery, and conduct persuasive legal research and writing.

Build and maintain client and partner relationships, provide case analyses and strategic recommendations, and use technology and case management systems effectively.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Experience independently handling cases from inception through trial/hearing and appeal.
• Strong communication skills for presenting litigated matters to diverse audiences.
• Skilled in fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues, customers, and business partners.
• Persuasive legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong legal research skills and ability to utilize technology.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail, urgency, and responsiveness.
• Sound decision-making and strong negotiation skills.
• Active license to practice law in NY and/or other required states.
• Regularly handles hearings, trials, dispositive motions, depositions, or other court proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and training to Claim partners and clients
• Utilize technology, case management systems, and automation effectively
• Travel as required to meet business needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Regularly handles hearings, trials, dispositive motion arguments, depositions, or other court proceedings
• Ability to transport to required meetings; valid driver's license required depending on location
