We are looking for a dynamic, highly-skilled, and experienced Permanent Associate Attorney to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who has a deep understanding of legal principles and a knack for insurance defense. This role will primarily focus on handling insurance defense cases, providing legal advice, and representing our clients in all stages of litigation.
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, and wrongful death claims.
- Review and analyze insurance policies, claims, and underwriting to provide legal advice regarding coverage issues.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and prepare discovery responses and requests.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and hearings.
- Develop and implement defense strategies, negotiate settlements, and advise clients on legal risks and potential liabilities.
- Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and updates on case progress.
- Stay current on legal trends, rulings, and changes in laws and regulations that may impact insurance defense cases.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient and effective case management.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense, with a proven track record of successfully defending clients in complex litigation.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with alternative dispute resolution methods.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to handle large amounts of information and make sound decisions under pressure.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong commitment to client service and a passion for achieving successful outcomes.

A bit about us:
A nationally recognized litigation defense firm is seeking a Litigation Associate for an exciting opportunity. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three to five years of litigation experience with complex high-exposure civil cases, excellent writing and advocacy skills, and be comfortable and competent to step into cases and prepare them for trial on tight time-frames. Willingness to travel required.
