Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a dynamic Permanent Associate Attorney with a strong background in insurance defense. The role emphasizes handling complex litigation, providing strategic legal advice, and representing clients through all stages of litigation.

The ideal candidate will have a JD from an accredited law school, at least 3 years of insurance defense experience, and active Texas bar admission. Travel may be required for nationwide matters and trials.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of insurance defense experience with a proven litigation track record.
  • Active Texas state bar membership in good standing.
  • Excellent legal research and drafting skills.
  • Strong negotiation and ADR experience.
  • Able to manage multiple cases and tight deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and client confidentiality.
  • Solid knowledge of insurance defense practice and procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Review policies, claims, and underwriting to advise on coverage issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and hearings.
  • Develop defense strategies and negotiate settlements.
  • Maintain strong client relationships with regular case updates.
  • Stay informed on trends and regulatory changes affecting insurance defense.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure efficient case management.

Job Details

We are looking for a dynamic, highly-skilled, and experienced Permanent Associate Attorney to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who has a deep understanding of legal principles and a knack for insurance defense. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow. This role will primarily focus on handling insurance defense cases, providing legal advice, and representing our clients in all stages of litigation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, and wrongful death claims.
  • Review and analyze insurance policies, claims, and underwriting to provide legal advice regarding coverage issues.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and prepare discovery responses and requests.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and hearings.
  • Develop and implement defense strategies, negotiate settlements, and advise clients on legal risks and potential liabilities.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and updates on case progress.
  • Stay current on legal trends, rulings, and changes in laws and regulations that may impact insurance defense cases.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient and effective case management.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense, with a proven track record of successfully defending clients in complex litigation.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with alternative dispute resolution methods.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to handle large amounts of information and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to client service and a passion for achieving successful outcomes.
