Job summary

Louisiana Works is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Dispute Resolution Specialist 1/2 in Baton Rouge to support the WC Judge by conducting research and preparing summaries of legal and factual issues in disputes.

This role involves filing and processing legal documents, scanning exhibits, coding minutes, and producing monthly statistics, with opportunities for career progression within the Workers’ Compensation Dispute Resolution track.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in workers’ compensation, injury investigation, or insurance claims examining/investigation/resolution.
• Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience substitution: 30 semester hours equals one year toward six years; max 120 semester hours substitutes for four years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of final legal documents such as dismissals, orders and opinions rendered by the Workers' Compensation Judge.
• Timely scan exhibits and minutes after trials or hearings.
• Properly and timely process and code minutes, attorney fee petitions, Unemployment and Social Security requests, full dismissals and independent medical examination requests.
• Act as safety coordinator for the office.
• Prepare and forward monthly statistical report.
