Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join our Louisiana team in New Orleans/Baton Rouge. You will represent employers and insurers in state workers’ compensation matters, handling cases from inception through resolution, including hearings, depositions, and settlements.

Qualifications

• Active licensure to practice law in Louisiana.
• Experience handling workers’ compensation defense matters.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in Louisiana workers’ compensation matters
• Handle cases from inception through resolution, including hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and correspondence
• Take and defend depositions, including claimant, medical, and expert depositions
• Appear before Louisiana Office of Workers’ Compensation (OWC) judges
• Provide strategic legal advice and reporting to clients and carriers
• Maintain organized case files and meet litigation deadlines
