Job summary

The University of New Orleans is seeking a Business Analyst – Payroll & Grants to serve as the functional lead for Workday Payroll and Grants. You will partner with HR, Finance, Sponsored Programs, and other units to optimize payroll operations, grant administration, and workforce costing.

Responsibilities include translating business requirements into Workday solutions, supporting configuration, testing, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field.
• Three years of experience supporting enterprise payroll systems, grant administration, ERP platforms, or related business applications.
• Experience translating operational requirements into technology solutions.
• Experience with payroll reporting, workforce analytics, or enterprise reporting.
• Knowledge of payroll operations, labor costing, grants administration, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead functional analysis for Workday Payroll & Grants; act as SME.
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, Sponsored Programs, and Academic Affairs to optimize processes.
• Analyze payroll, labor costing, grant administration, and workforce management for automation opportunities.
• Develop business requirements, specifications, workflows, and testing scenarios.
• Translate requirements into technical specs for IT and integration teams.
• Support governance, testing, and deployment of Workday functionality.
