Job summary

University of Akron is seeking a HR Analyst to manage personnel actions, records, and Workday-based hiring processes from requisition to onboarding. You will ensure compliance with policies and regulations, while supporting payroll deadlines and data accuracy.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of HR data management experience, with strong communication and organizational skills. Familiarity with Workday, applicant tracking systems, and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience with a data management system and general office procedures, preferably within a human resources environment.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, analytical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of higher education structure (preferred).
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Use Workday to administer the hiring process from job requisition through onboarding and ensure payroll deadlines.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide HR information, serving as first-line Workday support.
  • Assist departments with reference/background investigations and coordinate job offers and onboarding.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
