We are seeking a seasoned HR Testing Lead to support a large-scale HCM implementation, serving as the second-in-command to the HR Program Manager. This

Job Duty

  • Develop and refine the overall testing strategy and approach for the Workday HCM migration, encompassing Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), End-to-End Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Parallel Payroll Testing, Data Conversion Testing, Security Testing, and Performance Testing.
  • Create detailed test plans, including scope, objectives, test phases, entry/exit criteria, resources, roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
  • Identify and define test environments, data requirements, and tools.

Test Case Development & Management:

  • Oversee the creation, review, and approval of comprehensive test cases and scripts based on functional requirements, business processes, and design specifications.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements and test cases.
  • Manage and maintain test case repositories.

Test Execution & Coordination:

  • Lead and coordinate all testing activities across various teams (functional, technical, business users).
  • Monitor test execution progress, identify bottlenecks, and facilitate resolution.
  • Manage defects, including logging, prioritization, tracking, and verification of fixes.

Data Migration Testing:

  • Develop and execute strategies for validating migrated data from Oracle to Workday, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and transformation integrity.
  • Coordinate with data migration teams to resolve data-related issues.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Provide regular status reports on testing progress, defect trends, and overall quality metrics to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate test readiness reviews and go/no-go decisions based on testing outcomes.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, and external vendors/integrators.
  • Train and support UAT participants.
  • Support initial defect triage and resolution during the hypercare period post-go-live.

Section -2 Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Software Testing, with at least 3+ years in a Testing Lead or Test Manager role.
  • Proven experience leading testing efforts for large-scale HCM system implementations or migrations.
  • Extensive experience with Workday HCM implementations is mandatory, including Core HR, Benefits, Payroll, Absence, and Talent modules.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle HCM (EBS or Cloud) is highly desirable for data migration and integration context.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and various testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Proficiency in developing comprehensive test strategies, plans, and reports.
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, Workday Test Automation tools).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with data validation and reconciliation in system migrations.

Section‐3 Task and Deliverables

The Testing Lead will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Define and implement the overall testing strategy, methodology, and processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of testers (if applicable) or coordinate testing efforts across multiple teams.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to understand requirements and design robust test scenarios.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of test cases for various testing types (functional, integration, UAT, security, performance, data conversion, parallel payroll).
  • Manage the defect lifecycle from identification to resolution and retesting.
  • Ensure test environments are properly configured and maintained.
  • Monitor and report on testing progress, risks, and issues.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between all testing stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on Workday HCM testing best practices.

The Testing Lead will be responsible for the following key deliverables:

  • Test Strategy Document: Comprehensive document outlining the testing approach.
  • Master Test Plan: Detailed plan for all testing phases.
  • Test Schedules and Timelines: Detailed schedules for each testing phase.
  • Test Case Repository: Organized collection of all test cases and scripts.
  • Defect Management Process & Logs: Established process for defect tracking and detailed defect logs.
  • Test Execution Status Reports: Regular reports on progress, coverage, and defects.
  • Test Summary Reports: Final reports for each testing phase, including SIT, UAT, and Parallel Payroll.
  • Data Validation Reports: Documentation of data migration testing results.
  • Go/No-Go Recommendation: Based on testing outcomes and risk assessment.
  • Training Materials (for UAT participants): If required, support in developing UAT training.

Compensation:

Salary range for Remote residents only: Between $110,000 to $130,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
