Job summary

Systems Accountants is seeking a Workday HCM Configuration Specialist for a 6-month contract in Charlotte, NC. You will own day-to-day configuration across core Workday HCM modules, translate requirements with HR and stakeholders, and support the upcoming Workday releases.

You will build reports and dashboards, document configurations, and collaborate with HR, Payroll, and technical teams to deliver scalable Workday solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Workday HCM configuration experience.
• Strong Core HR knowledge and two additional modules.
• Advanced Workday reporting skills (Advanced and Composite).
• Deep understanding of Workday security framework and BP configuration.

The Opportunity

Our Financial Services client is looking for a Workday HCM Configuration Specialist to assist in the configuration of their Core HCM Workday platform.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own day-to-day configuration across core Workday HCM modules — business processes, condition rules, notifications, approval workflows, and security roles
• Partner with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clean, scalable Workday solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues quickly and effectively — you’re the go-to person when something isn’t working
• Support the upcoming Workday bi-annual release — assess impact, test features, and deploy updates
• Build and maintain Workday reports and dashboards to keep stakeholders informed and empowered
• Document configurations, update process maps, and keep the knowledge base current
• Contribute to active HR technology projects and enhancements throughout the engagements

What You Bring

• 3+ years of hands-on Workday HCM configuration experience — this is non-negotiable
• Strong working knowledge of Core HR, and proficiency in at least two additional modules (Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Talent & Performance, Absence, or Time Tracking)
• Solid Workday reporting skills — Advanced and Composite reports at minimum
• Deep understanding of Workday security framework and business process configuration
• A contractor's mindset — you hit the ground running, ask the right questions, and deliver without needing hand-holding
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with HR and technical teams
• Ability to work hybrid from our Charlotte, NC office

Nice to Haves

• Workday HCM Pro certification
• Experience with EIB or Core Connector integration
• Prior experience in financial services, healthcare, or another regulated industries
