Job summary

Altasciences in Overland Park, KS, is seeking a Workday HCM Analyst to serve as SME for Absence and Time Tracking modules, configuring processes, rules, and security within HR systems. You will implement upgrades, support data governance, and deliver scalable Workday solutions across HR operations.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and 3–5+ years of Workday experience, with certifications a plus. English communication essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, IS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5+ years of experience in a Workday Analyst role.
Workday certifications are an asset.
Strong understanding of Workday HCM architecture, processes, and configuration principles.
Experience with Workday reporting (standard, advanced, calculated fields).
Knowledge of HR data governance, controls, and audit considerations.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and data quality.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Customer-focused with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for assigned Workday Time Tracking and Absence Modules and any possible additional ones.
Configure and maintain Workday business processes, eligibility rules, validations, calculated fields, condition rules, and security roles within HCM scope.
Translate business needs (HR Ops, COEs, Payroll, IT) into scalable Workday solutions.
Ensure system configuration aligns with business requirements, policies, and data governance standards.
Perform impact analysis for configuration changes and ensure downstream process integrity.
Manage intake, clarify scope and success criteria, communicate status/risks/dependencies, and deliver on time and in scope for small/mid initiatives.
Participate in Workday’s semi-annual releases: review notes, assess impacts, recommend and implement value-add features.
Identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate manual work, and improve user experience and data quality.
Safeguard data quality and privacy across HCM; support audits and control requirements.
Plan and execute unit/regression/UAT; maintain test evidence and change documentation.
Build and maintain operational reports/dashboards within HCM scope; ensure accurate interpretation and actionable insights.
Identify trends or data quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
