Job summary

Des Moines Area Community College is recruiting a Work Study - Design Lab & Social Media Supervisor to support the fashion studio and department projects. You will assist faculty, manage studio operations, and handle social media postings while guiding student workers.

The role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills, with a 15-hour weekly schedule between 8:00am and 7:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Salary Information

$12.50 per hour.

Job Summary

The work study program provides funds for part-time employment to help students finance the costs of postsecondary education. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity for employment arranged around class schedules, while providing essential services to the College and the community.

Essential Functions

Supervise and support students working in the fashion studio.
Collaborate with faculty on department-wide projects and events.
Oversee studio preparation, cleanliness, inventory, and maintenance.
Manage communications to current and prospective students, including job and internship postings.
Troubleshoot basic technical issues for students and staff.
Support faculty with administrative tasks including data entry, material prep, and copy requests.
Represent the department during student tours and act as a mentor for new students.
Oversee the department’s social media content creation and scheduling.
Coordinate with other departments for deliveries, requests, and cross-functional collaboration.
