For summer 2026
Position Summary

Student Assistant will provide administrative and receptionist support. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to answering phone calls for the Career Connection Center (CCC), greeting guests to the office, assist with student intake appointments, and general administrative support.

Education/Experience

Currently enrolled Stevenson University student in good standing with the University academically and judicially with Federal work study eligibility. Must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Customer service experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability
  • Excellent grammar and spelling
  • Ability to handle multiple interruptions
  • Good work ethic and professionalism
  • Have an ongoing knowledge of the services, events, and procedures in the Career Connection Center.
  • Must commit to an assigned schedule of 8-12 hours per week during the academic semester
  • Interest in helping others and working with students, staff, employers, and faculty
  • Articulate, with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy in working with others, both face to face and on the phone
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
  • Detail oriented, dependable and reliable; initiative and enthusiasm
  • Ability to work evenings
Physical Requirements

Light work: exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Keyboarding, standing and/or sitting, walking, talking and hearing. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal.

Essential Functions
  • Answer phone calls and direct calls to the appropriate staff member
  • Assist students visiting the CCC for the first time via Student Intake Appointments.
  • Help students schedule appointments with their designated Career Advisor
  • Provide general office reception duties; greet student appointments as well as visiting employers.
  • Work closely with Career Connection Center staff on special projects and events (e.g. administrative and paper management tasks; events and career fair prep, phone calls in support of First Destination Survey collection).
