Job summary

The Fedcap Group’s Families Forward, based in Bangor, ME, seeks an Education and Training Instructor to deliver Power of Possible and Life Skills workshops, helping participants become job-ready and progress into work experiences.

You will use a structured, outcome-driven approach, lead engaging sessions, and coordinate with Career Advisors to ensure alignment with next steps while maintaining documentation and attendance records in FedcapCARES.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, workforce development, or related field.
• Two years’ experience in adult education, workshop facilitation, or workforce development coaching.
• Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is strongly preferred.
• Minimum starting salary $46,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver POP and Life Skills workshops as scheduled, ensuring consistency and adherence to curriculum standards.
• Conduct Single Stop Benefits screenings and support applications for eligible benefits (LIHEAP, Head Start, EITC, CTC).
• Facilitate ESOL ENGEN classroom sessions, including language immersion and progress tracking.
• Lead engaging, high-energy sessions and actively involve all participants.
• Set clear expectations for behavior, participation, and accountability.
• Use varied facilitation strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Maintain a structured classroom environment and ensure completion of activities.
• Prepare materials and technology in advance for effective workshop delivery.
• Deliver training aligned with progressive learning stages, moving from understanding to applying skills.
• Apply experiential learning approaches to develop cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills.
