Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking a full-time Employment Skills Instructor to support young adults with disabilities as they build workplace readiness and develop vocational skills through hands-on internship rotations.

The role focuses on assessing needs, creating individualized plans, and coordinating with local agencies to connect participants with employment opportunities while delivering engaging, practical training across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• 2 years teaching experience or permanent NYS DOE/ NYC Board of Education certification or 8 years related education/experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement assessment and work readiness training curriculum.
• Determines program eligibility and intakes individuals into the program.
• Coordinates eligibility for local and state agencies to provide a seamless system of support.
• Provides job coaching supports as needed.
• Prepares lesson plans and conducts work readiness workshops at various sites.
