Job Description
Under the direction of the Program Director and Workforce Development Coordinator, the Employment Skill Instructor (Direct Support Professional (DSP) Instructor) is responsible for preparing young adults (ages 18-24) for careers in the human services field by delivering engaging, competency-based instruction aligned with the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) Core Competencies.
The instructor facilitates classroom instruction, work readiness training, professional writing development, and employment preparation while fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment. This position plays a critical role in equipping participants with the technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and professional behaviors necessary to obtain employment as Direct Support Professionals and succeed in long-term careers supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The successful candidate is a dynamic educator who can connect with diverse learners, adapt instruction to varying learning styles, and motivate young adults toward achieving industry-recognized credentials and meaningful employment
