Job summary

The State of Florida Department of Transportation seeks a Work Program Specialist II to manage and balance the District's Five-Year Work Program, monitor funding sources, and provide analytical support to project managers and leadership.

This role requires strong budgeting knowledge, proficiency with FM System and Microsoft Office, and the ability to produce detailed reports and procedures. Located in Bartow, FL, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent with six years of relevant employment experience, or a Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Five-Year Transportation processes, budget processes and production management.
• Knowledge of the Department's budgeting, financial and fiscal procedures.
• Knowledge of state and federal programs as they relate to work program.
• Knowledge of the Department's Financial Management (FM) System.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of budget.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and maintain the District's Tentative Five-Year Work Program with the Work Program Coordinator.
• Monitor funding sources to balance levels compatible with Work Program Instructions.
• Perform multi-year Work Program analysis and regular performance reporting.
• Update status on projects and ensure consistency between budget and funds.
• Prepare reports for fiscal year-end close out activities and realignments.
• Create and update desk procedures for the Work Program area and train staff.
