Job summary

STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION is seeking a WORK PROGRAM SPECIALIST II to manage the District’s Tentative Five-Year Work Program and oversee funding across multiple sources. The role requires strong analytical skills, budgeting, and cross-team collaboration with project managers and leadership.

Responsibilities include monitoring funds, preparing reports, and ensuring regulatory compliance, with growth opportunities through the agency’s learning programs and training resources.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with six years relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with two years relevant experience.
  • Experience substitution: relevant professional experience can substitute for degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Knowledge of Five-Year Transportation processes, budget processes and production management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and maintain the District's Tentative Five-Year Work Program with the Work Program Coordinator.
  • Monitor funding sources to maintain balanced levels per Work Program Instructions.
  • Perform multi-year Work Program analysis and regular performance reporting to ensure alignment with budgets.
  • Update status on projects included in the Adopted Five Year Work Program.
  • Close and balance projects as directed by the Work Program Coordinator.
  • Create, maintain and update desk procedures; provide guidelines and training to project managers.
