Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Railroad Services, Inc. (GRSI) in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Manager, Work Equipment to serve as the principal technical resource for engineering work equipment, vehicles, and mechanical systems.

You will establish standards, reliability programs, maintenance practices, and qualification support across North American operations, guiding mechanics, operators, and engineers to improve safety, availability, and maintenance effectiveness.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or equipment reliability issues.
Experience supporting maintenance-of-way equipment or heavy equipment fleets.
Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, mechanical, and mobile equipment systems.

Responsibilities

Serve as subject matter expert for engineering equipment, vehicles, and mechanical systems.
Develop, implement, and maintain standards, procedures, specifications, and guidance for inspection, maintenance, repair, and operation of work equipment.
Provide technical support for complex equipment failures, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair strategies.
Establish preventive maintenance requirements, inspection standards, and reliability practices for work equipment and engineering vehicles.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to field mechanics and operators.
