Job summary

StrataTech Education Group is seeking a skilled Web Developer to own the design, development, and optimization of our WordPress-based websites supporting student recruitment across our skilled-trades schools.

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing Operations, this role builds fast, reliable, conversion-focused websites on WordPress and ensures those properties are engineered from the ground up for discoverability across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven search

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in web development, CS, marketing, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on web development with deep WordPress expertise (themes, plugins, custom development).
• Proven ownership of technical SEO, including site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and Search Console diagnostics.
• Experience with AI optimization and generative search optimization and how AI Overviews surface content.
• Experience with analytics/tracking tools such as GA4, GTM, and Search Console.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborating in a marketing-driven environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, translating marketing goals into technical execution.

Responsibilities

• WordPress Development & Site Management: Build and optimize landing pages and lead-capture experiences; manage performance, uptime, security, updates, backups.
• Technical SEO: Own site architecture, crawlability, indexation, canonicalization, redirects, XML sitemaps; optimize Core Web Vitals and page speed; implement structured data.
• AI Optimization (AIO): Optimize for AI-driven search surfaces; structure content for AI-generated answers; monitor visibility and translate findings into roadmaps.
• Analytics & Collaboration: Implement analytics, tag management, conversion tracking; work with marketing, admissions, IT, and external partners; document processes.
