Job summary

The University System of Maryland (USM) Office is seeking a Web Content Specialist to support the development and launch of the USM’s new website. The Specialist will assist with the development of the site by creating new pages and migrating existing ones to the new WordPress content management system.

The position will involve content creation, editing, and publishing. This is a part-time contractual position, 10-15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of web content experience.
• Familiar with accessibility and usability best practices.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to format and publish content in WordPress.

Responsibilities

• Assist with migration and development of WordPress pages.
• Create and update page layouts using templates.
• Write, edit, and proofread website content.
• Collaborate with teams to migrate content to the new site.
• Optimize content for readability, accessibility, and SEO.
• Review pages for errors and broken links.
