Job summary

The University System of Maryland Office seeks a Web Content Specialist to help build and launch the new USM website. The role focuses on content creation, editing, and publishing in WordPress, collaborating with IT and Communications to ensure a user-friendly, accessible site aligned with brand messaging.

This is a part-time contract (10-15 hours/week) ending 12/31/2026, with potential renewal. Up to 4 hours weekly may be required on-site in Adelphi or Baltimore; students are encouraged to

• Experience with creating or maintaining web content with attention to accessibility.
• Ability to write clear, accurate content aligned with brand voice.
• Experience migrating content to WordPress and organizing pages.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support migration and development of content for the new WordPress site.
• Create pages and layout updates using templates and patterns.
• Write, edit, and proofread content for clarity and consistency.
• Collaborate with teams to translate content and ensure accessibility.
• Optimize content for readability, accessibility, and SEO.
• Review pages for errors, formatting, and broken links.
