Job summary

Care-For-the-Homeless- is seeking a Housing Specialist to manage a comprehensive program supporting women with housing, counseling, entitlements and case management. Responsibilities include assessing housing history, identifying resources, and coordinating contracts and referrals with DHS.

Required are 2+ years in work with homeless or frail populations, knowledge of housing entitlements, and a valid driver's license preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Two+ years' experience with mentally ill, medically frail or homeless population.
• Experience working with housing entitlements.
• Valid drivers license (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assess housing history and independent living skills of clients.
• Identify available housing resources and maintain directory of resources.
• Coordinate housing contracts, referrals and follow-up to service providers including DHS.
• Document counseling, referrals and discharge planning activities in client folders.
• Attend required DHS meetings and participate in trainings.
