Job summary

Ashton North LLC in New York, NY is seeking a Technical Designer to join our apparel team, translating concepts into production-ready tech packs, BOMs, and fit plans.

You will partner with Design, Product Development, and Production to ensure quality, fit, and brand standards while navigating fast-paced timelines.

Candidates bring a strong technical foundation, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit to drive women's apparel from concept to market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of Technical Design experience in apparel.
• Experience in women's apparel; outerwear/activewear a plus.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and fit.
• Excellent attention to detail and measurement accuracy.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed tech packs with sketches, measurements, and specs.
• Create and manage BOMs, labeling, packing, and related docs.
• Lead or participate in fit sessions with live models.
• Analyze fit and provide clear revisions to vendors and teams.
• Review samples with pattern makers and manufacturers.
• Ensure samples meet standards for fit, quality, and design.
• Collaborate with Design, Production, and external partners.
• Help maintain timelines and brand consistency.
• Apply fabrics, trims, and construction knowledge to development.
• Support quality standards across products.
• Promote durability and customer satisfaction.
