Job summary

New Way Trucks in Booneville, MS is seeking a Wiring Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will install wiring and electrical components for garbage truck assemblies, prepare wire looms, mount lights and switches, and wire the finished product efficiently to maximize production.

You will read schematics, follow work orders, and inspect your own work for quality and safety. Forklift operation and crane-assisted placement of assemblies are involved; basic math and safe handling are

• Experience with wiring harnesses and 12V DC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical docs.
• Safety-conscious with ability to follow work orders and QA steps.
• Strong communication within a manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare wire looms, mount lights and switches, and wire finished product in an efficient manner to maximize production.
• Maintain accuracy of product by following specifications, work orders, and known practices.
• Inspect and test own work for function and appearance.
• Maintain inventory to minimize production delays and order components through Purchasing.
• Understand and work with electrical wiring, specifically 12 Volt DC.
• Operate forklift to move around garbage truck assemblies.
• Set garbage truck assembly on chassis using a crane.

Currently we are seeking an individual for our wiring department as a Wiring Technician to join our team and be an essential part of our manufacturing team in Booneville, MS. This person will install wiring and electrical components to garbage truck assembly.

Your Role in Our Mission:

• Prepare wire looms, mount lights and switches, and wire finished product in an efficient manner to maximize production.
• Maintain accuracy of product by following specifications, work orders, and known practices.
• Inspect and test own work for function and appearance.
• Maintain a level of inventory that will minimize production delays and order needed components through Purchasing.
• Understand and work with electrical wiring, specifically 12 Volt DC.
• Operate forklift to move around garbage truck assemblies.
• Set garbage truck assembly on chassis using a crane.

To Perform this Job Successfully:

• Good communication.
• Use math skills and have a good understanding of fractions.
• Read and understand schematics and technical documents.
• Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
• Add reflectors to cover sheets.
• Operate equipment in a safe manner and report hazards associated with the equipment or its operation to the Safety Department and Maintenance Department.
