American Battery Solutions Inc. in Lake Orion, MI, is seeking a Wiring Design Release Engineer for a temporary engineering role.

You will design battery pack electrical connectivity systems, lead harness topology, and collaborate with systems engineers to ensure internal and customer requirements are met. The role involves designing wire harnesses, conducting load analyses, reviewing voltage drops, and supporting pre-launch and product launches.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years of wiring experience within the Automotive Industry.
• Experience designing & specifying wire harnesses, flexible printed circuits (FPC), and automotive low- and high-voltage connector systems.
• Understanding of design best practices for wire routings, fixations, shielding & grounding.
• Understanding of common industry standards governing connector and wire harness design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead harness topology and partitioning.
• Package components and collaborate with other systems within the application.
• Optimize harness complexity across product lines to leverage standardization & modularity.
• Lead coding of all circuits.
• Complete electrical connectivity design for a battery system including Wire-list and DEF files for composite harness design, Load analysis.
• Review and anticipate voltage drop calculations circuit sizing.
• In-line connector pin count determination and circuit protection.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers and BMS Hardware Engineers to ensure requirements are met.
• Track and report on program progress to ensure requirements are met in a timely manner.
• Support pre-launch builds as well as product launches.
