Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Wireline Field Operator to execute well-site and shop duties, complete pre/post-job tool checks, and train junior operators. You will handle rigging, maintenance, logging heads, and ensure safety while meeting customer expectations.

The role requires a high school diploma, heavy mechanical aptitude, and a valid CDL with Hazmat or the ability to obtain one within 6 months. Work may involve on-call shifts, regional travel, and extended stays at sites.

Qualifications

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Have a heavy mechanical aptitude, including hands-on experience with tools, equipment, engines or other mechanical systems.
• Must be 21+ to obtain ATF explosives certification.
• Must be able to drive a manual vehicle and hold a Class A/B CDL with Hazmat endorsement or pass driving test within 6 months.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• On-call 24/7 availability and flexibility for extended well-site stays.
• Willingness to travel regionally and potentially stay remote.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a federal background check.
• Proficiency with computers for reporting and communication.

Responsibilities

• Preparing for jobs and performing tool maintenance, pre-job and post-job tool checkout.
• Rigging-up and rigging-down equipment at the well site.
• Servicing mechanical devices and building logging cable heads.
• Perforating cable heads and maintaining tools.
• Maintaining well site/DOT records and communications.
• Promoting and maintaining good customer relations.
• Receiving instructions on routine work and well-site activity.
• Performing duties at the well site and in the shop.
• Driving company vehicles safely and adhering to regulations.
• Participating in quality improvement efforts for ballistics operations.
• Supervising and training other Field Operators with strong safety focus.
• Performing other related duties as required.
