Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems in the Pittsburgh area. You will be key to delivering high-quality service and creative technical solutions on-site, with a focus on customer satisfaction.

The role requires deep RF knowledge, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to work with varied test equipment. Travel and on-call hours may be required; on-the-job training and certifications are provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in 2-way radio wireless/communication field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across bands.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and diagrams; battery backup systems and DAS/BDA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA, CCTV).
• Recommend equipment and hardware to meet customer requirements.
• Some regional/overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
