Job summary

BearCom in Greensburg, PA is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will create codeplugs, install equipment, and address customer needs with on-site service and occasional travel.

The role requires RF knowledge, experience with Motorola/Kenwood/ICOM/Vertex gear, and the ability to diagnose and repair systems. Training and certification support are provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless and/or communication field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word/Excel).
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install and service wireless communications equipment (e.g., UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz systems, DAS/BCU equipment).
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Recommend equipment meeting customer requirements and perform on-call or travel as needed.
• Some regional and/or overnight travel may be required.
