Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Wireless QA Engineer to reproduce, triage, and track Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth defects, validate fixes, and prevent regressions. You will leverage Wireshark for deep analysis and drive test automation with Python/Bash/C/C++.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in wireless connectivity testing, validation, or systems engineering.

• Experience with MFi Qualification (CarPlay, iAP) and Android Auto certification.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities

• Reproduce, triage, and track all incoming Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth defects, validate that bug fixes address the original reports and avoid regressions.
• Perform routine regression testing and proactively define new, robust test procedures and automation scripts to continuously improve software quality.
• Capture and analyze OTA Wi‑Fi air traces and HCI Bluetooth logs with Wireshark to perform deep‑dive root‑cause analysis.
• Work closely with Wi‑Fi Alliance (WFA) and Bluetooth SIG (BTSIG) certification teams, investigate and resolve root causes for any certification failures.
• Support Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth integration for Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, lead efforts in MFi qualification, including iAP and iAP Auto protocol verification.
• Assist with requirements analysis and capture, drive development efforts by managing change verification, reproducing bugs and collecting critical logs for issues raised by external/cross‑functional team members.
• Demonstrate flexibility and a collaborative mindset by stepping in to support adjacent domains such as USB, Power Delivery, Qi wireless charging, or physical layer testing when extra help is needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in wireless connectivity testing, validation, or systems engineering focused on Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth.
• Deep technical expertise in IEEE 802.11 standards (Wi‑Fi 5/6) and Bluetooth protocols.
• Experience with MFi Qualification (Apple CarPlay Wired/ Wireless, iAP, iAP Auto, MFi Auto) and Android Auto certification procedures.
• Experience in compliance labs or with standard bodies for technology compliance.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of Wireshark and other network/protocol analysis tools for capturing and analyzing wireless air traces and HCI logs.
• Proficiency in writing test automation scripts (Python, Bash, C/C++, or Shell) to automate functional, performance, and stress testing.
• Experience validating related technologies such as USB 2/3/4, Thunderbolt, Power Delivery, or Qi wireless charging.
• Proven ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams, manage external stakeholder issues, and adapt quickly to support other engineering domains.
