Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is seeking a Manufacturing Technician – Wiredrawer in Fort Wayne, IN. The role offers a starting pay of $22.79/hr with a $1.50 shift premium, weekly pay, and an alternate night shift schedule (10p-8a, Wed-Sat).

Day-one benefits eligibility for PTO and holiday pay, a safety‑focused team, and dedicated trainers help you succeed. 2 years of manufacturing experience required; overtime is voluntary.

Qualifications

• 2 years of manufacturing experience is required.
• Hands-on technical experience (mechanical, machine shop, fabrication, quality control/maintenance) may be considered in lieu of manufacturing.
• Accurately record production data (e.g., spool size, wire size, wire shape).

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to complete the wire drawing process including setup, stringing, inspection, welding and grinding, and clean up.
• Troubleshoot wire rejected by Inspection; determine root causes and communicate solutions to DSL/DTL or other personnel.
• Produce wire on assigned machines according to DSL/TL instructions and production orders.
• Act as a first line inspector responsible for product quality.
• Keep assigned work and storage areas clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
