Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is seeking a Maintenance Tech to handle welding, machining, electrical work, and general maintenance across our production environment. The role emphasizes a safe, reliable operation and requires hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with voluntary overtime and a shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The team focuses on quality, safety, and timely maintenance to support critical medical and aerospace

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in related technical field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in industrial maintenance.
• Minimum 1 year lathe experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical, welding, basic machining (lathes and mills) maintenance and repair.
• Maintain AC and DC drives and troubleshoot as necessary.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning equipment and machines.
• Sustain and record parts inventories and list parts to be ordered for the Team Leader.
• Prioritize maintenance jobs based on work orders (low/medium/high).
• Record work orders into the system.
• Troubleshoot machines for operation issues.
• Keep work and storage areas clean and organized.
• Install water, gas, air piping, and electrical power when moving/adding a machine.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Production Coordinators, and other departments to meet goals and customer expectations.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
