Job summary

ULTRAX Aerospace, Inc. in Lees Summit, MO is seeking a Wire and Cable Builder to cut and strip wire, attach contacts, populate connectors and finish harnesses used in test sets.

You will use hand and pneumatic tools, read schematics and BOMs, and work with population programs, label printers, and other equipment. The role requires attention to detail, ability to meet production schedules, and willingness to cross-train in other departments.

Responsibilities

• Build wire assemblies using hand operated and pneumatic tools.
• Use and interpret standard measuring devices, such as measuring tape, calipers, digital multimeters, etc.
• Use a heat gun to install components such as solder sleeves, heat shrink sleeves, etc.
• Operate an automatic wire cutting machine, label printers, and other manufacturing equipment.
• Build cable and harness assemblies using computer based population programs.
• Install boots, tape, clamps, connectors, and various components used in standard cable building.
• Populate pin and socket contacts into connectors using industry standard insertion tools.
• Cross-train and work in other departments (Assembly, Engraving, Inventory, Shipping, etc.) as work levels require.
• Follow written build procedures and supporting documents such as: schematics, bill of material, master drawing, etc.
• Perform other duties assigned.
• Work in compliance with OSHA and MSDS safety policies.
• Adhere to company practices regarding safety and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD).
