Job summary

ULTRAX Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Soldering Technician in Lees Summit, MO, to build circuit card assemblies with SMT and through-hole components. Most work will be performed under a microscope.

The role requires precision, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to read schematics. You will solder using a stereo microscope and join components while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years SMT experience or equivalent training.
• Excellent eye–hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• Knowledge of SMD component identification.
• Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• IPC-A-610 certification is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Communicate and listen effectively in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Manually install electronic components following drawings and schematics.
• Create soldered connections to defined quality standards.
• Solder under a microscope using a stereo microscope (Amscope or similar).
• Use small hand tools to position parts and form leads.
• Replace and repair faulty components using through-hole, surface-mount, and high-temperature soldering.
• Follow OSHA and MSDS safety policies and ESD controls.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Soldering Technician position will build circuit card assemblies with SMD and through-hole components. Most work will be done through a microscope.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manually install electronic components according to knowledge of unit being assembled by following written directions and/or drawings and/or schematics.
• Create soldered connections to applicable quality standards.
• Solder while using a stereo microscope (Amscope or similar).
• Use small hand tools to position parts to assist in assembly operation, stripping wire, forming leads, etc.
• Replace and/or repair faulty components using solder techniques including (but not limited to) through-hole, surface mount, and high temperature soldering.
• Work in compliance with OSHA and MSDS safety policies.
• Adhere to company practices regarding safety and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Qualifications/Experience

• One to three years SMT experience or equivalent training.
• Excellent eye-hand coordination
• Knowledge of SMD component identification.
• Ability to read and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• IPC‑A‑610 certification is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Communicate and listen effectively in a professional and courteous manner.
