Job summary

State of South Dakota is seeking Snow Plow Operators in Sturgis to remove snow and ice from state highways during inclement weather. Training will be provided. Requirements include CDL with N Tank endorsement, and willingness to report during winter conditions.

Positions are seasonal with variable hours, potentially 20–40 hours per week, and may be filled before the closing date. The normal season runs roughly September 24 through May 8. Closing Date: 03/31/2027.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have the ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a Class A or Class B CDL with a N Tank Vehicles endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Operate snow plow and perform snow/ice removal on State highways.
• Complete general maintenance tasks as needed.
• Training will be provided.
