Job summary

State of South Dakota is seeking Winter Reserve Snow Plow Operators for Highmore and Miller locations. This seasonal, non-benefited position involves snow/ice removal on state highways and may include general maintenance duties. Training will be provided, with hours varying by winter severity.

Applicants must be 18+, legally able to drive, and hold a valid CDL with N endorsement. Drug testing and driving record checks are required; work may occur during mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to operate heavy equipment.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and a Class A/B CDL with N: Tank Vehicles endorsement.
• Pre-employment and ongoing drug/alcohol testing are required.

Responsibilities

• Remove snow and ice from State highways during winter weather.
• Perform general maintenance tasks as needed; training provided.
• Be prepared to work varying hours during severe winter conditions.
