Job summary

State of Indiana, through INDOT, is seeking Seasonal Winter Program Workers for the Monticello Sub District (Monticello, Logansport, Winamac). The role centers on snow and ice removal and highway maintenance with a CDL required and a $21.00 hourly wage.

Start dates include Nov 9 or Dec 7, 2026, with a $250 sign-on bonus and a $500 retention bonus for those hired by 12/7/26 staying through 3/27/27. This on-site seasonal position does not offer benefits and lasts up to 180 working days in an

Qualifications

High school graduate or HSE preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
CDL Class A or B required and must be maintained.
Drug test required as a condition of employment.
Ability to move 50 pounds.
Ability to perform physical activities (lifting, dragging, standing, walking).
Ability to endure inclement weather.
Ability to operate specialty traffic equipment.
Ability to follow directions and work as a team.
Ability to work unpredictable/non-traditional hours.
Able to perform essential functions with/without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain and repair highways and right-of-way.
Move and load supplies and materials.
Winter operation duties including snow and ice removal.
Emergency response activities including traffic control and barricades.
Perform equipment maintenance, refueling, and pre-trip inspections.
Follow INDOT safety policies and procedures and document work in the WMS.
