Job summary

The State of Indiana's INDOT is hiring for a Seasonal Winter Maintenance Worker in Plymouth, IN. You will perform snow and ice removal, operate snow plows, and maintain highways and right-of-way while supporting traffic safety during winter operations.

Qualifications include a valid CDL (Class A or B), a valid driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 pounds, and willingness to work long/variable hours in winter conditions.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or HSE preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must have the ability to move 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform physical activities for long periods.
• Able to work in inclement weather.
• Must be able to operate specialty traffic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain, repair, and clean highways and right-of-way.
• Move and load supplies and materials.
• Winter operation duties including snow and ice removal.
• Emergency response activities such as: traffic control, lane closures, placement of signs, and erecting barricades.
• Perform equipment maintenance and pre-trip inspections.
• Adhere to safety policies and complete job documentation in the Work Management System (WMS).
