Winter Roadway Maintenance Operator – CDL Required

Job summary

State of Indiana, through the INDOT Vincennes Sub District, seeks a Winter Seasonal Maintenance Worker for snow and ice removal and related duties. A CDL is required, along with a valid license and ability to lift 50 pounds. Position is seasonal with potential interviews and a $21.00 hourly rate.

Open interviews are scheduled with potential start dates in November and December 2026. Eligible employees may receive a $500 retention bonus if hired by 12/7/26 and retained through 3/27/27.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL.
• Must pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Must be able to move 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather and long hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic highway maintenance and traffic equipment.
• Move and load supplies and materials.
• Winter operations: snow and ice removal.
• Emergency response: incident management and traffic control.
• Equipment maintenance: minor repairs and inspections.
• Follow safety policies and complete documentation in WMS.
