Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Department of Conservation & Recreation is seeking four Winter Seasonal Maintenance Equipment Operator II positions in the Boston Region (North Point Cambridge and Stony Brook Boston). Start 11/15/26 and end 3/20/27. Duties include operating heavy equipment, performing routine maintenance, and maintaining records for roads, parks and beaches.

Minimum qualifications include possession of CDL, Mass. Class 2 MVOL, and Mass.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver's License (CDL).
• Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class 2 Motor Vehicle Operator's License (Mass. Class 2 MVOL).
• Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class C Equipment Operator License (Mass. Class C Equipment Operator).
• Ability to operate heavy power-operated equipment and perform manual labor in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy power-operated equipment such as cranes, backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers and other machinery for road, park and beach maintenance.
• Operates heavy dump trucks, snow plows, sanders, sweepers and mower equipment for road and grounds maintenance.
• Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment and maintains records and reports.
• Loads and unloads furniture and supplies and applies materials as needed.
• Ability to work independently and supervise staff.
