The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, via DCAMM, seeks a Maintenance Equipment Operator II to operate heavy power equipment for excavation, grading, grounds maintenance, snow removal, and related tasks. You will perform routine maintenance, keep records, and assist with grounds upkeep.

This is an Emergency Personnel position requiring report during governor-declared emergencies when directed. CDL and Class C Equipment Operator's License are required.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts CDL required.
• Massachusetts Class C Equipment Operator's License required.

Responsabilités

• Operate heavy equipment such as front-end loaders and catch basin machines for construction, maintenance and repair.
• Operate heavy dump trucks, snowplows, sanders, sweepers, tractor-drawn and zero turn mowers, and similar equipment to maintain roads and grounds.
• Perform routine operator-level maintenance: lubricating, fueling, cleaning, tire pressure checks, and monitoring battery, oil, water, and coolant levels.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment using applicable technical and mechanical knowledge.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to vehicle and equipment use, mileage, inspections, destinations, accidents, fuel, repairs, and equipment sheets.
• Perform grounds maintenance: lawn mowing, parking lot and driveway maintenance, drainage maintenance.
• Operate specialized equipment as assigned (e.g., under-bridge inspection units, large rollers/loaders, basket trucks).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
