Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a Seasonal Maintenance Equipment Operator II for Salisbury Beach to perform road and facility maintenance using heavy equipment. The role includes operating cranes, bulldozers, backhoes, dump trucks, snow plows, and other machinery, plus routine vehicle care and record-keeping.

The position supports the Department of Conservation and Recreation in maintaining beaches and park facilities, ensuring safety and efficiency in public spaces during the winter season.

Qualifications

• Safety Sensitive Positions require participation in testing per policy.
• Operates heavy power-operated equipment including street sweepers, backhoes, front-end loaders and bulldozers.
• Maintains records and prepares reports on vehicle use and expenses.
• Ability to work independently and supervise staff.

Responsabilités

• Operates heavy power-operated equipment to construct/maintain/repair roadways, parkways, beaches and drainage systems.
• Operates dump trucks, snow plows, sanders, sweepers and related equipment for beach, highway and grounds maintenance.
• Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment (lubrication, fueling, etc).
• Loads and unloads furniture, equipment and supplies; applies materials such as sand, salt, gravel.
