Job summary

MnDOT is seeking a Transportation Generalist in Mapleton on a temporary, intermittent basis. The role focuses on winter road maintenance, snow removal, and equipment readiness. The position is located in Mapleton with day shifts, Monday through Friday.

The candidate must hold a valid Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement and meet English language requirements. A Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance program can substitute for experience, with background checks and safety compliance as

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with tanker endorsement and no air brake restriction.
• At least 1 year of experience in snow/ice, soils, road surface maintenance, roadside maintenance, bridge maintenance, signs, or related activities.
• Working knowledge of English to read, write, speak, and communicate with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain roadways for snow and ice control during winter operations.
• Prepare and inspect winter equipment and perform post-storm cleanups.
• Install and maintain snow fences and replace mailboxes.
• Record snow/ice data for inventory and resource management.
