Job summary

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Region One is seeking a Seasonal Transportation Technician I to support operations at Morgan Maintenance Station. This role involves operating heavy equipment for snow removal, roadway maintenance, equipment operation, and emergency response.

Applicants must have a valid Class A CDL, be able to report within 30 minutes, work nights, be on-call, and lift up to 50 pounds in all weather conditions. Seasonal employment with no benefits. Open until filled.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL: Must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Snow and Ice Removal: Clear state roadways using snowplows, graders, blowers, and specialized heavy equipment.
• Roadway Maintenance: Repair traffic signs, fences, guardrails, and other critical roadway features.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate, inspect, and maintain CDL-restricted vehicles, tools, and heavy equipment.
• Emergency Response: Assist with urgent roadway issues and storm response as needed.
