Job summary

State of Michigan's Department of Transportation is filling several limited-term Transportation Maintenance Worker positions across Lenawee and Monroe Counties for a winter season from November to April. Work involves surface and roadside maintenance, operating heavy equipment, and traveling to assigned sites, with full-time hours during the term.

Qualifications

• Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
• Two years of experience equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Worker, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Worker 7; or, one year of skilled trades experience at the E9 level.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at the time of hire.
• Some positions may require possession of a commercial Pesticide Applicators license per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of State trunk lines within the right of way, including winter maintenance.
• Operate vehicles and equipment with GVWR 26,001+ pounds.
• Travel to assigned work areas and participate in team-based work groups and TMW program.
