Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking multiple winter-season Highway Maintenance Worker positions in South Central Region, Area 2 (Randle, East Selah, Rimrock, Toppenish). Roles require CDL with N endorsement, willingness to work nights/weekends, and readiness to operate diverse maintenance equipment.

These non-permanent 3–6 month assignments support snow and ice control, highway safety, and public service.

Qualifications

• Highway and Roadway Maintenance experience on highways and related infrastructure.
• Heavy Equipment Operations experience including large equipment used in winter maintenance.
• Valid Class B CDL with N endorsement, no airbrake restriction, and a CDL Medical Card; ability to obtain safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance activities outdoors under varying weather and traffic conditions.
• Operate and maintain a wide variety of highway maintenance equipment.
• Safely use tools and PPE to support maintenance and repair operations.
• Support year-round and emergency maintenance including snow and ice response.
• Coordinate with supervisors, maintenance staff, contractors and the public to safely complete tasks.
