Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Eastern Region seeks non-permanent Highway Maintenance Worker positions for the winter season in Spokane, Colfax, Davenport and Colville areas. Duties include snow removal, road maintenance, debris cleanup, and traffic control to protect the traveling public and crews.

These roles require nights, weekends, holidays with 40 hours per week. Must have CDL, ability to work at heights, and respond to emergencies as needed to keep Washington roads

Qualifications

• Valid Class B or Class A CDL without air brake restriction.
• Highway maintenance experience including snow/ice control and pavement repair.
• Ability to operate and maintain a variety of maintenance equipment and tools.
• Ability to plan, set, and maintain traffic control per MUTCD standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to perform snow and ice control and related tasks.
• Perform asphalt, concrete pavement maintenance and repair.
• Maintain drainage, guardrails, fences, signs, and roadside landscaping.
• Coordinate with agencies and respond to emergencies with traffic control.
• Conduct traffic control operations including lane closures and detours.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and vehicles.
• Assist with debris cleanup and hazardous material cleanup as needed.
