Job summary

City of Appleton is seeking a Facilities Manager I at Reid Golf Course & Jones Park. You will supervise participants, manage concession operations, and ensure a safe, clean environment across multiple sites.

This role requires leadership, money handling, and strong communication with staff and patrons. The position is part of the Parks and Recreation Department, with responsibilities including opening/closing duties, basic first aid, and coordinating with the Recreation Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of high school completion.
• Experience or ability in handling money.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly.
• Ability to work with varied age groups, including children.
• Physically capable of performing program activities.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and at multiple sites.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
• Shall wear Parks and Recreation staff uniform per dress code.
• Work nights and/or weekends.
• Work at multiple sites.
• May be required to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Supervises participants in activity area and warming shelter.
• Maintains a safe playing atmosphere.
• Opens and closes the facility.
• Disarms alarm system where applicable.
• Calculate and collect concession fee from patrons; record transactions.
• Prepare food safely and maintain cleanliness of equipment and dispensers.
• Sell and stock concession products; maintain concession areas.
• Reconcile money at start and end of shift; complete paperwork.
• Perform start-up and take-down of concession equipment.
• Completes weekly deposits as required.
• Record attendance, accident reports, and concession sales.
• Administers first aid when necessary.
• Supervise and train employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Recreation Programmer.
• Maintain good communication with staff.
• Communicate clearly with patrons.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Ensure adherence to department rules and policies.
