Job summary

State of Vermont's Agency of Transportation seeks a Transportation Operations Technician II to perform a variety of highway maintenance tasks, including repairing guardrails, cutting brush, patching roads, litter pickup, ditching, and more. Winter duties include plowing and salting with potential overtime; may assist in vehicle and equipment maintenance.

CDL required and a Class A with tanker endorsement is preferred, with Class B also required within six months.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor.
• Ability to operate a snowplow with wings or six months of operating medium to heavy equipment.
• CDL experience and tanker endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Repair guardrails, cut trees/brush, patch roads, and pick up litter.
• Ditching and general highway maintenance tasks.
• Plow and salt roads during winter months; overtime may be required.
• Assist in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
