Job summary

State of Vermont Transportation Operations Technician II - Temporary in St. Johnsbury, VT, is a seasonal, part-time role supporting highway maintenance and winter operations. Responsibilities include repairing guardrails, patching pavement, ditching, clearing brush and litter, and assisting in plowing and salting during winter weather events.

Overtime may be required. Applicants must meet CDL requirements and live near the assigned workstation, with potential for extensive overtime during snow

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor including snowplow operation.
• Six months of operating medium or heavy equipment (graders, excavators, backhoes) if no snowplow season.
• Possession of a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Support highway maintenance and winter operations in St. Johnsbury.
• Repair guardrails, patch pavement, ditch, clear brush, and pick up litter.
• Assist in plowing and salting during winter weather events; overtime may be required.
