Job summary

Vail Resorts in Kentucky is hiring for a Lift Operations Lead for the Winter Season 2026/2027. Lead daily lift operations, oversee staff, and ensure safety and guest satisfaction in an outdoor mountain environment.

The role requires 1-2 years in lift or mountain operations, ability to work outdoors in all weather, and fluent English communication. Starting wage $22.00/hr to $29.22/hr with full-time hours and weekend/holiday shifts.

Qualifications

1-2 years of previous lift or mountain operations experience.
Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
Must be physically capable of assisting guests while loading lifts; may lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

Lead daily operations of resort lifts such as scheduling staff and procedures for opening and closing lifts.
Assist with hiring, support, and training of operators and scanners in daily operations and safety.
Monitor and document lift operator performance and behavior to provide feedback and direction.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and enforce all applicable laws, policies, and procedures for guest safety.
Work closely with ski patrol, mountain safety, lift maintenance, and lift electric to resolve mountain issues.
Promote clean and organized workstations.
Receive and address guest questions, comments and complaints with timely resolutions.
A Team Lead Lift Operator provides additional training to support ticket scanning.
